JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
The Finance Manager is responsible for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and annual audit coordination.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Accounting & Financial Operations
1. Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing and maintaining a chart of accounts and general ledger. Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions to the general ledger in the SAGE accounting software.
2. Perform variance analysis and timely reconciliation of general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
3. Reconcile banking statements to the accounting system accounts on a timely basis, prior to the Board’s monthly review.
4. Provide support for events by developing processes and controls for cash management and mobile credit card processing at event sites. Support includes attendance at events which may be outside of normal work hours.
5. Selecting and managing relationships with merchant vendors for credit card processing for ecommerce (Website) and mobile applications (Square, Infintech).
6. Process bi-monthly payroll and prepare journal entry to allocate personnel expenses to the appropriate program area.
7. Prepare all closing and adjusting journal entries for fiscal year-end.
8. Assist external auditors by providing requested documents and preparation of functional expense reports.
9. Manage communications with external accountants on the coordination and completion of the annual audit and tax returns.
Ensure requirements are met for renewal of the RCV Charitable Solicitation license and ensure timely filing of the license annually.
Budgeting & Reporting
● Prepare monthly financial statements and variance commentary for presentation by the Treasurer at the monthly board/executive board meetings.
● Assist President & CEO with the development of the annual budget for submission to the Board for approval.
● Track budget spending on an ongoing basis and report status to the President. ● Prepare cost proposals and financial statements for the Municipal Service District (MSD) request for proposal from the City of Raleigh as required for contract renewal.
Policies, Procedures & Human Resources Support
● Define and maintain fiscal and operating policies and procedures.
● Set up and administer employee benefits in payroll systems including SIMPLE IRA matching plan, pre-tax supplemental insurance deductions, and business expense reimbursement.
● Enter, track and update financial and employee data in the Payroll Processor’s system including direct deposit, tax withholding, wage garnishments, paid time off (vacation, sick & personal) and develop spreadsheets and reports to track and verify accuracy.
● Prepare census data for employee benefits plans and workers compensation audits. ● Review employee travel / expense reimbursement forms for accuracy and process through the ADP system.
● Administer annual healthcare plan renewal with healthcare provider and/or broker. ● Maintain staff personnel files and facilitate staff onboarding/offboarding processes.

Skills and Capabilities:
Education and Certifications
● Graduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required. ● Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
● 3-5 years of experience in financial management required.

Physical & Travel Requirements
● Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

● Provided a flexible hybrid work schedule where eligible to work from home on a regular basis each week with some in-office work necessary for certain duties.
